Rome's HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS

Rome, consistently one of the most visited cities in the world, has a plethora of hotels. At the top of the scale, the super luxury places near the Piazza del Popolo and the Via Veneto, where heads of state, movie stars, the rich and celebrated are always to be found: the Hotel de Russie, the Eden, the Excelsior, the Splendide Royale. And at the bottom of the price list, the hostels and bed and breakfast apartments, some of them quite comfortable, that dot the streets surrounding the main train station, Stazione Termini. In between, there are a number of charming boutique hotels, three and four-star accomodations offering varying degrees of comfort. We have personally visited many, many hotels in our home town of Rome, talked with the proprietors, examined the rooms, sometimes encouraged friends to stay there and report back.
